This isn’t as tongue in cheek as it initially seems.
Possible explanations of cramp include:
Loss of electrolytes (sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium etc)
Not stretching enough
Not warming up enough
Muscle imbalance causing one muscle to do too much work
